Is it so hard to let go of that cultural practice?

It’s so sad to see Chinese people bashing each other.

Talking about others, judging others, bashing others, discriminating others, gossiping...... didn’t you do enough of this when you were in China? Did you love doing it when you were in China? Why did you come to Canada if you love this kind of cultural practice so much? Aren’t you glad that you are no longer living in that environment? Aren’t you glad that you now have a lot of privacy? Aren’t you glad that now you can live the life you want to live and not having to care about what other people think of you, as you did when you were in China? Aren’t you glad that you can finally live your own life in peace and quiet?

Why bringing that ugly part of the Chinese culture to Canada, where you start a new, and presumably a life that you consider better?

Life is short. Spend your time wisely. Instead of watching how others live their lives and bashing others, spend your time improving friendship and relationships. Spend your time improving your health. Spend your time acquiring knowledge. Have a nice conversation with your neighbor. Spend your time teaching your kids to live their own lives and not to judge others. Spend your time making love to your husbands and wives. Get a hobby or something. Live your life and mind your own business.

Some people will probably start bashing me for what I have written. That’s ok. You are who you are.

Be happy.

Oh, what a surprise! I have not been bashed hehe....

Agree with Haoren1 but, don't kid yourself. You think Canadians don't gossip? They may not do it the way that Chinese do, but belive me, they gossip. You think Canadians don't criticise? Oh, yes, they do. But they do it differently. When they want to say you are useless, they say you are a nice guy - which means, other than being nice, there is nothing else to say about you. So, you have to listen to the underlining message. Most Canadians are too polite to say anything negative. So they choose to say irrelavent nice things. It's their culture. I've met Canadians who believe Chinese way of gossiping is very interesting and very efficient. If chinese wants to know how much you make, they ask you frankly. If a Canadian wants to know how much you make, they ask half a dozen questions to get that estimate.

Now you are bashing Canadians.

haoren1: it's not bashing. It's the truth. It's human nature. "tell me someone who never gossips, and I will show you someone who is not interested in human being." - I forgot whose quote it is, suppose to be someone famous.
