Police in MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais say foul play has been ruled out in the death of Zachary Mitchell, 21, of Ottawa who drowned after jumping off a six-metre balcony into Lac Saint-Pierre near Val-des-Monts, on Aug. 23.
An autopsy has confirmed drowning as the cause of death “and no other elements suggest that he could have been victim of a crime,” police said in a release.
The investigation indicated the victim had been drinking before the plunge, but final toxicology results will not be known for several weeks.
