Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning Sunday afternoon for Ottawa North, Kanata and Orléans.
The weather agency said that at 3:25 p.m.meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, nickel size hail and heavy rain.
Radar indicated a developing area of thunderstorms near the Ottawa Valley moving eastward at 40 km/h.
Must of the rest of Eastern Ontario was under a thunderstorm watch.
