Ottawa –Booth Street Bridge will open to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians between Albert Street and the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway on Sunday, September 4.
The roadway has been closed to traffic since December 2014 to allow for construction of the bridge in conjunction with the O-Train Confederation Line light rail transit (LRT) construction project. The bridge crosses the LRT tracks beside Pimisi Station.
The adjacent Preston Street extension, which was built to temporarily redirect Booth Street traffic throughout the construction period, will be decommissioned when the bridge opens.
Signage is in place to inform commuters about the upcoming change.
Temporary cycling facilities on Booth Street will include a painted 1 metre lane for cyclists as well as signs allowing for cyclist to share the sidewalk with pedestrians. These solutions were developed through consultations with the cycling community.

The O-Train Confederation Line is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
