Why do you think you 是客 ?
Canada or US, this is YOUR country. China is NOT your country, it is where you were born and raised, and (perhaps) where most of your relative still lived.
This is equivalent to the following senario:
You happened to work for Nortel in your very first job, then later on moved to Cisco, and continue to tell Cisco co-workers that your identity and hearts are with Nortel forever, and you are just a guest at Cisco...

联不敢对，但Xiaomimi提出了一个很有趣的问题: 怎么定义"祖国"。
如果"祖国"专指个人的"出生国家"，那么一个"外国人"如果在中国出生，那怕他第二天离开中国，他这一生的"祖国"都将是中国。
如果"祖国"是指父辈的"出生国家"，那么可能就更乱了。我的祖国可能便成了"楚国"，因为我父亲的"祖国"是指他父亲的"出生国家"，如此追溯。
还有一种定义，"祖国"是指十八岁以前居住的国家，这就更不容易界定了。

Should realize many in this forum are still Chinese citizen. A Chinese citizen can of course continue to consider China as their country.
What about a Chinese citizen with Canada or US PR ? I think this is a gray area. I know in US a green card holder must register for Army recruit and be ready to pick arm for America, against thier birth country if necessary.
