An early morning blaze near Somerset Street West saw an abandoned building destroyed.
Fire crews received calls about a blaze at 13 Lebreton St. around 1 a.m. Flames and smoke were clearly visible from the property. When crews arrived, they found the 2 storey building fully involved and rushed to contain the blaze.
One of the walls of the building caved in while firefighters battled the fire.
The fire was brought under control by around 2 a.m.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire. However, a home located next to the abandoned building was damaged by the fire.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. An investigator is on the scene and an investigation into the blaze is ongoing.
