A 62-year-old man from Tweed, was killed after being struck by a car while walking on a roadway in the municipality on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the OPP, the man was walking on Old Hungerford Road near Birch Lane in Tweed, north of Belleville, around 2:40 p.m.
A southbound car moved to the right shoulder after meeting a northbound farm truck on a curve. While manoeuvring to the shoulder, the car struck tpedestrian.
The pedestrian was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The 21-year-old female driver, from Madoc, sustained minor injuries.
Old Hungerford Road was closed until 9 p.m. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
