Police have charged a young Ottawa man after someone showed up in a Kanata neighbourhood with a gun and made threats.
The incident happened about 2:45 a.m. Thursday somewhere in the Roland Michener Drive area, police say.
Police didn’t say whether there’s a connection between the man with the gun and whoever he threatened, but they say the gunman was gone before police arrived, and no one was hurt.
Later in the day they arrested Patrick Kool Montecatine, 22, of Ottawa. He faces a string of charges including careless use of firearm, weapon, or prohibited device, two counts of pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon, and breach of recognizance.
