A 43-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with several counts related to child pornography following a three-month investigation.
Police said that in June, the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre forwarded a number of tips it had received from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
The reports indicated that images and video of child abuse were being uploaded to IP addresses in the capital region.
Detectives were able to track the IP addresses to a suspect and on Saturday raided an address in the 1000 block of Rockingham Avenue in the Billings Bridge area.
They seized computers, cellular devices and external digital media.
Scott McCooeye has been charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, one count of distribution and two counts of making child pornography available.
He was to appear for a bail hearing on Sunday.
