A 37-year-old Gatineau man is to appear in court Sept. 20 on charges of sexual assault after a woman complained to Ottawa police in August that a fellow cyclist had slapped her buttocks for riding too slow.
A woman reported she had been assaulted while riding her bicycle in the area of Lyon Street near Wellington Street during the morning rush hour.
She supplied police with a number of phone photos, which the police reissued as a public alert last week.
Police said Romain Hubner surrendered Tuesday night.
He was charged with one count of sexual assault and released on a promise to appear in court.
