Hunt Club Road is closed after a serious three-vehicle collision at McCarthy Road Saturday morning, in which firefighters extricated a 21-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

At 7:26 a.m., paramedics were advised of a “major motor vehicle collision” at the intersection. They found three vehicles had collided with one vehicle, a small white Toyota, having rolled over and landed on its roof.

Ottawa Fire Services teams extricated the driver, the only occupant, who was trapped in the upside-down car for 15 minutes.

The man, who was unconscious, was treated and taken to the Ottawa Hospital trauma unit in critical condition with “multi-system trauma.”

The male driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle involved, a Ford F-150 pickup truck, was treated by paramedics and released at the scene.

The male driver and female passenger of the third vehicle, a mid-sized sedan, were treated by paramedics and released at the scene.

Police are investigating.
