Ottawa –Rideau Street will be closed this weekend between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street beginning Friday, September 23 at 10 p.m. until Monday, September 26 at 6 a.m. The closure is necessary for the installation and capping of a watermain on Rideau Street.
Rideau Street will remain closed to general vehicular traffic.
During the road closure businesses will remain open as usual. Pedestrian and cycling access will be maintained and flaggers will be on site as required. A detour will also be in place for taxis and delivery vehicles during the construction period.
OC Transpo and STO buses will be accommodated at the Transitway bus stops on Mackenzie King Bridge. Impacts to transit service as a result of the closure are anticipated to be minimal. For more information, OC Transpo customers should visit octranspo.com and STO customers should visit sto.ca.
