Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges against a minor in Pembroke who allegedly attacked another student with an “edged weapon” after school on Monday.

According to police in a release Friday, an altercation took place between three students at Fellowes High School in Pembroke around 3 p.m.

One of the three allegedly brandished an edged weapon — although police are not saying whether it was a knife — and threatened one of the other students in the melee. The fight ended shortly after. None of the teens were injured.

After investigating, OPP laid charges against a 16-year-old teen whose identity cannot be disclosed because he is a minor.

The teen is facing charges including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats and assault with a weapon.

The youth was also charged with Breach of Probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was held for a bail hearing on Wednesday and remains in custody until his next appearance at the Ontario Youth Court of Justice in Pembroke on Oct. 4.
