Ottawa – Rideau Street between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Monday, October 3 until the beginning of December. The closures are necessary to accommodate construction on the O-Train Confederation Line project.
All vehicular traffic will be prohibited on Rideau Street in the designated area during the scheduled closures. Businesses will remain open with street level pedestrian access as usual. A detour will be put in place for taxis and delivery vehicles.
During the closures, OC Transpo buses serving the Rideau Centre will be rerouted to the MacKenzie King Bridge.
