An elderly man in Chelsea who became pinned underneath a shed luckily had a cellphone on him to call for help, MRC des Collines said.
The man was working on the shed on Sherrin Road last Friday when it slid off of beams that were holding it in place, police said in a news release. Despite several body parts being pinned by the structure, he managed to dial 911.
Firefighters used “all their ingenuity” to free the man in a rescue operation that lasted nearly two hours, police said. Firefighters used a backhoe to hold the shed in place to get him out.
The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
