Gatineau Police have identified two teenagers who allegedly dressed up as clowns, one dragging a long chain, and terrified a number of children at a Gatineau park on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the pair will not be charged as they are minors.

Police said the boy and girl, should expect a visit from a Gatineau police officer later this week who is going to want to talk about their actions.

Authorities launched the investigation after a person in a clown mask and another in clown “suit” and facepaint, wandered through a Limbour Park in the Farmers Rapids neighbourhood of old Gatineau, scaring the kids.

None of the children were touched or injured by the men.

One of the clowns, wearing a red T-shirt and jeans, calmly posed for pictures by a concerned mother before wandering off.

Facebook postings on the incidents garnered dozens of comments from concerned parents.
