The manhunt for Daniel Adjetey-Nelson ended Saturday morning after the man wanted on a first-degree murder warrant turned himself in to Ottawa police.
Adjetey-Nelson was arrested and will appear in court Sunday, said police. He was wanted in connection with the stabbing death of Mitch Paquette, 55, on Rosenthal Avenue Thursday. It was Ottawa’s 14th slaying of the year, and appeared to be a family dispute.
Paquette was stabbed with a kitchen knife outside his townhome on Rosenthal Avenue around 6:15 p.m. Police believe there was a confrontation between Paquette and another man. The attacker fled the scene.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Adjetey-Nelson’s arrest. Police said they believed he was armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about the slaying is asked to contact Major Crime at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
