Gatineau police are seeking public assistance in locating Naïma El Mahdaoui, 14.
The girl’s family says she has not been heard from since she ran away from school on Oct. 3.
However, she has apparently been seen in Aylmer and is known to hang out at shopping malls in Ottawa and Gatineau.
Police and the family say Naïma has said she wanted to go to Montreal or Toronto and they fear for her safety.
She is described as Caucasian about 1.65 metres (five feet five inches) tall weighing 54 kilos (about 120 pounds) with light brown hair and green eyes.
But police and the family say she may have changed her appearance.
