Two Toronto-area residents charged with running Ottawa prostitution ring

Ottawa police have charged a man and a woman from Toronto after an investigation into allegations of a human trafficking operation involving minors.

According to police, a raid on a hotel in downtown Ottawa on Monday found evidence to suggest that the pair were involved in transporting women between the ages of 15 and 17 from Toronto to Ottawa for the purposes of prostitution.

Police allege Poku and Boucher posted advertisements for sexual services on an online classified advertising service Oct. 20-24.

Police have arrested and charged Michael Poku , 27, of Toronto with three counts of trafficking in persons under 18, three counts of trafficking in persons, three counts of procuring person under 18 to provide sexual services, three counts of advertising another person’s sexual services and one count of failure to comply with judicial release.

Police have also arrested and charged Madison Boucher, 19, of Hamilton with three counts of trafficking in persons under 18, three counts of trafficking in persons, three counts of procuring persons under 18 to provide sexual services, three counts of advertising another person’s sexual services, one count of failure to comply with judicial release and one count of breach of probation.
