Ottawa police are seeking witnesses to a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Kanata Sunday evening that has resulted in the death of the motorcyclist.
According to police, a red Hyundai Accent and a Honda motorcycle were attempting to navigate the intersection at Eagleson Road and Fernbank Road when they collided.
The driver of the motorcycle received life threatening injuries, and later died. Police have identified the motorcyclist as George “Rick” Ellas, 59, of Ottawa.
The driver of the car, a 30 year old, received minor injuries as a result of the crash.
Police said alcohol and speed do not appear to have been factors. However, they are seeking witnesses to better understand the sequence of events that led to the collision.
