An 80-year-old Maniwaki man has died in hospital of injuries he received in an alleged hit-and-run incident Tuesday night, says the Sûreté du Québec.
The man, whose identity was not released, was struck at about 8 p.m. by an automobile near the intersection of Principale and des Oblats streets.
A 28-year-old Maniwaki man was arrested shortly after the suspect car was tracked down nearby.
He has not yet been charged.
Maniwaki is about 140 kilometres north of Ottawa.
