Home team touchdowns will be a blast – literally – at the Redblacks game Friday night.
The Department of National Defence is alerting fans and TD Place neighbours that two C3 Howitzers will be firing blank artillery rounds after the national anthem and when the Redblacks score a touchdown.
The 30th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery will first fire the blanks at about 7 p.m. at the fan appreciation game. DND says that while residents will hear the noise, the blanks pose no risk to anyone at the game or nearby.
DND issued the warning ahead of the game – clearly having learned its lesson from the area residents who were panicked by a CF-18 Hornet flyby last year.
