Ottawa police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a suspect in an Aug. 24 residential break-in.
Detectives say a man allegedly broke into an apartment in the 900 block of Bronson Avenue between 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m on Aug. 24 and stole a credit card, which was used later that day. Police have released a photo of a suspect and asked for the public’s help in identifying him.
On Tuesday, police issued a warrant for the arrest of David Lavigne, 36. He faces charges of breaking and entering, possession of a credit card obtained by crime as well as eight counts of fraud under $5,000.
Lavigne is described as a Caucasian male, five foot two inches tall with a medium build and light brown wavy hair. He is known to frequent the Bank Street area and downtown lunch kitchens. It is unclear when he was last seen in Ottawa.
Anyone with information about the break in, or where Lavigne can be found, are asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service break and enter unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 4533. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
