Ottawa LRT tunnel collapses downtown, three people trapped

Emergency crews are rushing to the scene of an LRT tunnel collapse on Waller Street, according to Ottawa police.

Three people are trapped inside. Councillor Mathieu Fleury said the preliminary info he has indicates they are construction workers, and are currently in a “holding zone” in the collapsed tunnel.

Police have said there are no fatalities they are aware of.

The street is at the northwest end of the University of Ottawa campus.
