Six people were taken to hospital after a three-car collision on Highway 417 heading east toward Woodroffe on Sunday night.
A minor two-car collision turned into a major crash after a third vehicle struck the first two, Ottawa paramedics spokesman François Côté said.
A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after first responders extricated him from the car. He was trapped for at least 30 mins, Côté said.
A 35-year-old man and another, 20-year-old man were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A fourth man, 24, and two women, ages 23 and 25, were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating.
