We’ll get our first dose of winter on Sunday, and a whole whack of it is coming at once. Keep your shovel handy.
After a gorgeous Friday and a forecast high of 15 C on Saturday, Sunday will bring a freeze. Environment Canada says that Ottawa and the Valley could see “total snowfall amounts on the order of 10 to 15 centimetres by Monday noon.”
The details are in an alert:
“A low pressure system sweeping across Ontario is expected to bring colder temperatures with rain changing to snow on Sunday. This snow could linger over eastern Ontario for a considerable amount of time bringing accumulating snow and impacting the Monday morning commute.”
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each offer a chance of flurries.
We’ve been living on borrowed time with the recent sunny, warm spell. The average high for this time of year is 4 C and the average low is minus-3 C.
