A 22-year-old man suffered extensive injuries in a two-car crash at Earl Armstrong and River roads near the Vimy Memorial Bridge late Friday.
The crash occurred at about 10:30 p.m. when the victim’s car was apparently broadsided by another vehicle.
The man suffered chest and abdominal injuries as well as a possible broken left leg. Ottawa Fire Services rescue personnel were required to free him from the vehicle.
He was transported to hospital where he was listed in critical condition on arrival.
The woman in her 20s driving the second vehicle was examined by paramedics at the scene but not taken to hospital.
Police are investigating the crash.
