A Carleton Place man has been arrested and charged with drug and weapons offences after police found more than two pounds of marijuana at a Mississippi Mills residence on Nov. 17.
John Porteous, 51, was charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Wednesday.
Police said they also recovered shotgun ammunition, pieces of a dismantled shotgun, one flare gun, a pellet gun, as well as a number of stolen property including a snowmobile, a boat motor and a generator. Drug trafficking paraphernalia was also seized.
Porteous was released on a promise to appear and is expected to appear in court on Jan. 9, 2017.
