Two young Quebecers were arrested after marijuana was found during a Nov. 4 roadside spot check in the Township of Laurentian Valley, Ontario Provincial Police said Wednesday.
OPP officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley charged both Camile Dagenais, 20, from Mansfield, Que., and a 17 year-old boy from Davidson, Que., who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, with one count of marijuana possession. Both are to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Dec. 13.
While RIDE (reduce impaired driving everywhere) roadside checks tend to be seen around the holidays, the program is in effect all year round, OPP said.
