Ministry of Labour investigating fall that leaves roofer in critical condition

A roofer working on a private residence in Stittsville was rushed to hospital in critical condition after slipping off the roof and plummeting to the ground.

Police said they were called to “a serious industrial accident” at the work site on Woodwind Crescent around 2 p.m. Saturday.

Paramedics treated the worker at the scene before taking him to hospital, where he remained Saturday in critical condition.

The Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate.
