The mayor of Ottawa is inviting football fans in the nation’s capital to line Bank Street on Tuesday at noon in celebration of the Ottawa Redblacks’ dramatic Grey Cup victory.

Jim Watson took to Twitter in the minutes after the Redblacks’ 39-33 OT win over the Calgary Stampeders on Sunday to announce the city’s plans.

We're hosting a parade for our #GreyCup Champions, the Ottawa @REDBLACKS ! Tues. 12 p.m. at Pretoria bridge. #RNation, we'll see you there!

The victory parade is scheduled to begin at noon on the Pretoria Bridge. From the bridge, the Redblacks will make their way, with the Grey Cup, to Bank Street. The team will proceed south on Bank Street to Lansdowne Park.

The parade is expected to last around 30 minutes. At the end of the parade, the team will be hosting a fan rally at Aberdeen Square.

The Redblacks’ victory march may be a chilly one. Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Sunday, warning of freezing rain expected to begin early Tuesday morning and possibly lasting until midday.

Temperatures were predicted to rise above the freezing mark either late that morning or afternoon.
