Students and faculty at Carleton University were still unable to log on to the university’s main computer system Wednesday, following a ransomware hack.

Carleton announced on Twitter that “A number of systems continue to be unavailable, including staff/faculty email. More updates will be provided shortly.”

One person tweeted that the university’s wireless is also out of action.

Hackers infected Carleton with ransomware Tuesday, demanding payment in Bitcoin to remove the malware.

The university was warning on Tuesday: “Please refrain from connecting to our network at this time. It is safe to access applications (cuLearn, portal, etc) from off campus.”

A Carleton spokesman said Tuesday he didn’t know whether the university would pay. The University of Calgary recently paid $20,000 in ransom after a malware attack.

More to come.
