The Ottawa police major crime unit is investigating, and one man is in custody, after the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man on Meadowlands Drive early Sunday, the city’s 22nd homicide of the year.
At 2:50 a.m., paramedics responded to a call about the stabbing at Meadowlands and Prince of Wales Drive, and treated the man, who was unconscious, for “multiple penetrating trauma wounds.”
They administered several life-saving procedures, including a chest thoracostomy and “aggressive resuscitative measures.”
It’s the second homicide in two days, and the latest in what has been a deadly year in the capital. On Saturday, a man in his 30s was fatally shot at a Centretown apartment building.
More to come.
