It’s time to turn around and do it all over again.
City plows have been out mopping up the mess all day but our ever-helpful friends at Environment Canada warned Monday morning that five cm more snow would fall by the time the storm passed Ottawa.
The grand total could hover around 20 cm.
Be prepared for more “winter travel conditions” into the afternoon, according to the Environment Canada weather statement covering Kanata to Orléans and south to Richmond and Metcalfe. The statement was lifted shortly after noon Monday.

By the lunch hour, city police had reported 30 motor vehicle collisions with damage and OC Transpo continued to warn commuters of potential delays, suggesting they consider taking an earlier trip.
It wasn’t until after 1 p.m. that OC Transpo tweeted “delays on the majority of the service are now over.”
After lots of red on the board of the Ottawa airport Monday morning, there was only a smattering of delays by afternoon and a couple of cancelled flights.
The Monday morning commute trended on Twitter and had even pedestrians gnashing their teeth.
The snowfall record for Dec. 12 is 21.8 cm in 2000 while 2007 got the nod for the most snow on the ground with 51 cm.
