As of Tuesday, 75.7 cm of snow has been dumped on the capital, more than double the average of 37.4 cm by Dec. 12 Tony Caldwell
Grab the shovels, Ottawa — it’s going to get a lot messier — and colder — before the week’s over.
According to an Environment Canada weather advisory, a large weather system is expected to bring a “significant” amount of precipitation into southern Ontario from the United States Friday evening.
It’s expected to move into eastern Ontario overnight Friday into Saturday. Poor travel conditions are expected.
The snowfall is expected continue into Saturday night, before drying up by Sunday.
All this is expected to add to an already unusually snowy season.
