Outaouais-based major crime investigators and Montreal police have collared a prisoner who escaped from Gatineau hospital in Gatineau almost two weeks ago.
An inmate of the detention centre in Hull, David Harvey, 22, was being treated at the Gatineau hospital when he fled Dec. 3. Police had suspected he was heading home to Montreal.
A health care worker was injured in the escape.
Harvey was arrested in Ville Saint-Laurent just before 8 a.m. Thursday, the Quebec provincial police said.
He was to appear in court in Gatineau Friday to face charges including escaping from custody.
