A 28-year-old Ottawa man is facing child pornography charges after a tip led police to an address on Montreal Road.
The centre that coordinates anti-child exploitation efforts across Canada forwarded information to city police in June and August from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children cyber-tip line.
An IP address in the east end was alleged to have uploaded images of child sexual abuse using a chat room known as ChatStep.
Police went to court to get production orders linking to the IP address to the Montreal Road address, which police raided Thursday. Images of child sexual abuse were found on a computer, police said.
Michael Lalonde, 28, is charged with three counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of making it available.
He was scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing Friday morning.
