Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit has charged a provincial police officer involved in a two-vehicle crash in Johnstown, Ont. in June.

The OPP cruiser and a civilian vehicle collided on June 10 on County Road 2 at Mary Street.

OPP at the time said one man suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries, and spent some days in hospital. They gave out no other information.

The SIU has now charged OPP Const. Timothy Jackson with one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. They won’t say what happened to the injured man.

Johnstown is near the intersection of Highway 416 and 401.

The SIU investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
