A 45-year-old hunter accidentally shot himself in the chest with his own crossbow Sunday.
He was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition, paramedics said.
First responders were called to the ************************ugh Forest at about 6 p.m. They were told that the man was unloading his crossbow after a hunting excursion in the large wooded area southwest of Richmond with friends at the time of the mishap. The arrow missed vital organs and the man was taken to the road by his companions to meet rescuers.
