An investigation into a photo-sharing website by the Sûreté du Québec and the Ottawa police Internet child exploitation unit has led to the arrest of a 36-year-old Ottawa man on numerous child pornography charges.
Ottawa police said David Sharpe was arrested after a warrant was executed on Tuesday at a home on Prince of Wales Drive near Dynes Road.
Sharpe, who was held in custody pending a show-cause hearing on Wednesday, faces several criminal charges related to making, possessing and distributing child pornography.
He is also charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and nine counts of voyeurism.
Police said additional charges might be laid pending results of a forensic examination and victim identification.
