Once again, OC Transpo will be offering its free New Year’s bus service on Dec. 31, but with a new 4:30 p.m. start to the service.
Transpo, with MADD Ottawa, in partnership with the City’s Safer Roads Ottawa program and other partners, is starting the free bus and Para Transpo service earlier in the day to encourage families to participate in the New Year’s festivities.
The city-wide service will run until 3 a.m. on Jan. 1 to accommodate the late partiers and high volume of pedestrian traffic.
Regular Para Transpo service is cancelled for the holidays, but customers can book trips in advance by calling 613-244-7272 on or after Dec. 25.
As several roads will be closed downtown for special events, OC Transpo users are encouraged to plan ahead and follow @ottawacity and @oc_transpo on Twitter for the most up-to-date information about road closures as well as bus delays and holiday schedules.
