A Gatineau man is in custody after emergency crews responding to a house fire at 16 Chemin Eardley in Aylmer Thursday night discovered what they believe is a marijuana grow-op.
Thirty firefighters and 10 trucks responded to the blaze at about 10:30 p.m.
It took approximately 45 minutes to bring the fire, in a two-storey, two-apartment house, under control, after which firefighters notified police of a suspected grow-op in the basement.
Police have secured the building and are currently executing a search warrant.
The cause of the fire is also under investigation.
