Firefighters were working to quell a fire that broke out in a Centretown row house early Saturday.

Shortly after 5 a.m., Ottawa Fire received a 911 call from a resident at 69 Raymond St., saying their home was on fire, and that they were evacuating. A second 911 caller passing by on Highway 417 reported flames visible from the roof.

When they arrived, firefighters confirmed the residents had evacuated the home, in a multi-unit row home complex.

Saturday morning, crews continued their efforts to control the fire.

There were no injuries reported.

An OC Transpo bus provided shelter for those temporarily displaced.

Ottawa paramedics and police also attended.

Raymond Street is closed between Rochester and Bell Street North, while Booth Street is closed between Orangeville Street and Gladstone Avenue.

A fire investigator was expected to attend.

Cause and damage estimates are not yet available.
