Texting driver hit with fine, demerits after smashing into Outaouais home

A texting driver who crashed into a home in l’Ange Gardien, about 40 kilometres northeast of Ottawa, has been hit with a $127 fine and four demerit points.

Things could have been much worse in the Dec. 23 crash, the MRC des Collines police noted in a news release.

“Fortunately, no one was injured” including the 40-year-old driver, police said.
