A man in his 40s was taken to hospital Thursday afternoon with life-threatening injuries following a collision with a driver in the Vanier area.
The pedestrian was treated head injuries after he was struck by a car, Ottawa paramedics said.
“The man was unconscious at arrival of paramedics and is in critical condition in hospital.”
The pedestrian was struck at McArthur Avenue and Irwin Miller Street in the Vanier area, Ottawa police Const. Chuck Benoit said.
McArthur remains closed in both directions from Brant Street to Lafontaine Street as police continue to investigate the crash.
