A community celebration will take place at City Hall tomorrow to build excitement for Ottawa’s bid to host the 2021 Canada Summer Games.

The party will be hosted by Mayor Jim Watson, Councillor Jody Mitic, City of Ottawa Sports Commissioner, Ottawa 2021 Bid Committee Co-chairs Cyril Leeder, President of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, and four-time Olympian Sue Holloway.

Date: Thursday, January 12

Time: Noon to 1 p.m.

Location: Marion Dewar Plaza, Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West

Paid parking: Available at City Hall and on surrounding streets

This event will be held outdoors. Participants are advised to dress appropriately.

There will be plenty to experience during the event:

  • Free BeaverTails and hot chocolate while supplies last
  • Live music by the Jackson Miles Band
  • Skating on the Sens Rink of Dreams
