Paramedics are crediting seatbelts and a mother’s properly using child car seats after she and her two toddlers walked away nearly-unscathed after their SUV rolled on Riverside Drive on Sunday.
The SUV overturned after a two-vehicle collision near Tremblay Road at 1:05 p.m.
Bystanders were able to help the woman and her two little girls out of the badly damaged vehicle. The mother suffered “very minor” injuries and her children were unharmed. The driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were unhurt.
“The proper use of seatbelts, and particularly appropriately sized and secured child car seats were key factors in this positive outcome,” the paramedic service said in a news release.
