ttawa corner store Fairmont Confectionery, which houses the popular Sam’s Cafe eatery, is closing its doors on Sunday, according to a posting on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
The post from Monday morning said:
“Yes the rumors are true. For a variety of family reasons, we have decided to retire our beloved Café and Confectionery…We have loved sharing our passion for food with you, and cooking for you and your families. We have met wonderful people that would not have been likely otherwise, many of whom will be lifelong friends.”
The confectionery at 102 Fairmont Ave. contains a popular sandwich spot called Sam’s Cafe tucked in the back, which specializes in Thai and Vietnamese food.
