It took Gatineau firefighters more than three hours to put out an early-morning blaze at an auto repair shop in east-end Gatineau.
The fire at 223 rue Guillemette began around 6 a.m., a spokeswoman for the Gatineau fire service said.
Crews were still there past 9 a.m. to control remaining hot spots. Damage was extensive but there has not yet been an estimate of the dollar value.
Guillemette is a residential street other than the one commercial garage. It’s north of Kettle Island.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
