he entire Rideau Canal skateway will be temporarily closed from 10 p.m. on Thursday, just one day after the entire length was opened to the public.
Citing “adverse weather conditions,” the National Capital Commission made the decision Thursday afternoon to close the canal to skaters, in order to keep ice conditions from deteriorating further.
Portions of the canal have been open since Saturday.
